Women's Lacrosse Drops Close Regular Season Finale to Tufts

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin women's lacrosse team ended its season in a narrow 14-11 loss to Tufts on Wednesday night on Ryan Field.
 
The Polar Bears conclude with a 6-9 overall record and 1-9 NESCAC mark. The Jumbos (13-2) earn the #2 seed for the NESCAC postseason with an 8-2 record.
 
Game Highlights
  • Tufts went up with a pair of early goals in the first five minutes.
  • Bowdoin responded with three straight goals to close out the first quarter and lead 3-2. Grace Harvey sandwiched an Ellie Fabbro goal.
  • The teams traded blows to open the second with the Jumbos scoring first, followed by Tate Ryan, another Tufts goal, and then another Fabbro goal to make it 5-4.
  • Mara Muse made it a two goal lead, scoring in the final two minutes, and Tufts scored in the final seconds to make it 6-5 Bowdoin heading into halftime.
  • The Jumbos switched their defense and did not allow a goal in the third quarter. Tufts scored five goals in the frame to take a 10-6 lead.
  • The visitors added another goal to open the fourth quarter before Muse found the net to make it 11-7. Tufts extended its lead to 14-7 before Bowdoin closed out the game on a four goal run.
  • Annie Bermingham scored three straight tallied and Harvey scored the final goal of the game.
