Women's Squash Opens 2018 With Trio of Home Matches

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's squash team suffered a trio of tough losses this weekend as they returned to action in their first matches of 2018.

The 26th-ranked Polar Bears (4-5) dropped a 5-4 decision to #21 St. Lawrence and 9-0 matches to #15 Middlebury and #14 Williams.

Weekend Highlights

  • Bowdoin almost pulled off the upset of the Saints, winning at the top four positions.
  • The Polar Bears got victories from Lindsey Bindra (3-0), Tully Ross (3-0), Lex Horwitz (3-0) and Diya Chopra (3-2) against St. Lawrence.
  • The closest other match came at the number six spot, where Natasha Belsky dropped a 3-2 decision.
  • Bowdoin suffered a pair of winless days against Middlebury and Williams on Saturday and Sunday, with Lex Horwitz earning a set on both days, falling in a pair of 3-1 losses.
