LEWISTON, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's outdoor track & field team beat the elements and the competition to claim the 2017 Aloha Relays at Magee-Samuelson Track on Saturday afternoon.

The Polar Bears finished with a team total of 217 points, easily out-distancing Bates (112) and Southern Maine (107.5) in the ten-team field.

Meet Highlights

• Bowdoin had multiple winners on a cold and rainy day at Whittier Field.
• Samantha Schaefer won the 200m dash (26.59), Meghan Bellerose claimed the 800m (2:18.15) and Julia O'Rourke won the 10,000m (38:56.55) in the running events for the Polar Bears while Sarah Kinney claimed the 3000m steeplechase (12:05.85)
• Bowdoin swept the relay events, winning both the 4x400 relay in 4:11.98 (Georgia Bolduc, Schaefer, Amani Hite, Sara Ory) and the 4x800 relay in 9:45.11 (Demi Feder, Noelle Blackford, Bellerose, Caroline Shipley).
• In the field events, Stefanie Mueller won the high jump (1.48m), Pamela Zabala won the discus (39.25m) and Ellen Masalsky won the javelin (38.98m).
