Box Score BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Colby College women's lacrosse team rallied from an early deficit to run away from Bowdoin on Wednesday evening, 18-9, at Ryan Field.
The 16th-ranked Mules (8-3, 5-3 NESCAC) dealt the eighth-ranked Polar Bears (9-3, 5-3 NESCAC) their worst loss of the 2017 campaign and extend their winning streak to six games overall.
Game Highlights
- Bowdoin scored the first three goals of the game, including two by Hannah Hirschfeld to take an early advantage against the Mules.
- Colby rebounded with a 3-1 run, cutting the deficit to 4-3 on a Cassie Rodgers goal with 16:44 remaining in the opening half.
- After Mettler Growney pushed Bowdoin's lead to 5-3 with 12:02 left, Colby scored four times in the final 6:53 of the period, including consecutive scores by Kendall Smith, to take a 7-5 lead at halftime.
- The Mules continued to roll in the second half thanks to three early goals by Sasha Fritts that gave the visitors a five-goal cushion, 12-7, with 21:41 to play.
