Coach Pizzo's Report - May 25
The Polar Bears competed in the Eastern Semi Finals the past two days in San Diego. Conditions were great both days with breeze out of the west from 10-20 knots. San Diego Bay is a busy harbor so staying powered up through the motorboat chop and having great upwind and downwind boat speed was important. The team had a solid opening day but really improved throughout the event finishing sixth of the 18 teams in the Eastern Semi Finals and thus qualified for the Women's National Finals which will begin tomorrow and go through Friday. Erin Mullins sailing with Olivia Diserio and Ellis Price sailed A division and Courtney Koos, Louisa Lindgren, and Sydney Avitia-Jaques sailed B division with Mimi Paz and Martie Ogle as key reserves. The Women's Nationals with feature the top 18 teams in the country and will be the most competitive Women's regatta of the year.
