NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Bowdoin indoor track & field team enjoyed a successful weekend at the ECAC Championship this weekend hosted at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
The Polar Bear men finished second overall while the women recorded a tenth-place showing. Two individuals and two relay teams claimed ECAC crowns at one of the year's largest meets.
Meet Highlights
- The highlight of the meet was Bowdoin's sweep of the men's and women's 4x800 meter relay races
- The Polar Bear women's team of Martha Bobem Meghan Bellerose, Allyson Fulton and Demi Feder won in a time of 9:25.76 while the men's squad of John Kennely, James Sullivan, Conor Donahue and Jacob Ellis captured first in 7:45.23
- Individually, Katharine Krupp won the women's triple jump with a distance of 12.27 meters, breaking her own school record again
- Jacob Ellis was first in the men's 800 meter race, finishing in a meet-record time of 1:51.91. Conor Donahue finished right behind in second in a time of 1:52.15.
- John Kennealy was third in the men's 500 meters with a pace of 1:05.59
- Ben Torda took third in the men's 3000 meters (8:32.21) with Nicholas Walker right behind in fourth place (8:33.34)
- Walker took third in the men's 5000 meters (14:46.79) with a personal best time
- The Men's Distance Medley relay team of Ben Torda, Harrison Porter, Connor Rocket and Calvin Henry was third (10:16.73)
- Brian Greenberg was third in the men's triple jump (14.42 meters) to establish a new school record
- The Women's Distance Medley relay team of Fulton, Bellerose, Feder and Eleanor Brakewood was fourth overall (12:21.64)
- Joseph Staudt placed fifth in the Heptathlon (4157 points)
- Calvin Henry placed fifth in the mile run (4:18.61)
