WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Williams College women's lacrosse team used a 4-1 run in the second half to defeat Bowdoin 10-8 on Saturday afternoon at Farley-Lamb Field.

The Ephs move to 1-2 (1-1 NESCAC) with the win while the Polar Bears fall to 1-2 (0-2 NESCAC) with the setback.

Game Highlights

• With Bowdoin owning a 2-1 lead in the early going, Williams outscored Bowdoin 4-1 over the final 19 minutes of the opening period to take a 5-3 edge at the break
• Bowdoin answered with two quick goals out of halftime by Lindsay Picard to knot the score at 5-5 before Williams' Anne Rehfuss and Bowdoin's Emma Beecher traded scores just a minute apart, tying the score at six with 22:28 remaining
• Williams scored twice in a 1:51 span to regain the lead and, after Beecher trimmed the lead to 8-7 with 15:46 to go, scored twice more to push the lead to 10-7 wiht 5:20 on the clock
• Beecher scored with 1:55 remaining for Bowdoin but the Polar Bears could get no closer

• Beecher scored five goals in the loss for Bowdoin, leading all scorers
• Suzanna Penikis was one of three two-goal scorers for the Ephs, with both of her tallies coming in the decisive second-half run
