BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bates College women's track and field team claimed the 2016 Maine State Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship hosted by Bowdoin College on Friday evening at Farley Field House.

Meet Highlights

• Katie Krupp was a double-winner for the Polar Bears, claiming the state title in the long jump (5.36 meters) and the triple jump (11.55 meters), where she carded a new state meet record
• Sarah Kelley was also a double-winner on the track, setting two state meet records in the mile run (4:59.96) and the 1000 meters (2:55.29)
• Meghan Bellerose won the 600 meter run for Bowdoin (1:38.90)
• Bowdoin won an exciting 4x400 meter relay race in 4:12.13, edging Bates by just over a second thanks to Naomi Jabouin, Eleanor Brakewood, Sara Ory and Addison Carvajal
• The Polar Bears recorded a dominant victory in the 4x800 race as Martha Boben, Bellerose, Demi Feder and Allyson Fulton posted a time of 9:42.76, winning by over four seconds
