HARTFORD, Conn. - The Bowdoin College squash teams suffered tough losses to top-ten squads to open their 2016-17 campaign last weekend.
The men's team dropped 9-0 to top-ranked Trinity and ninth-ranked Drexel to open the year 0-2. The women's squash was bested by third-ranked Trinity 9-0 and lost to tenth-ranked Drexel 7-2. Both teams will be back in action in two weeks as they will travel to Bates on Friday, December 2.
Alexa Horwitz claimed a win for the Bowdoin women's team against Drexel, capturing a 11-9, 7-11, 11-7, 11-9 win. The other point for the Polar Bears against Drexel came via default.
The Polar Bear women are currently ranked 18th in the latest College Squash Association national rankings while the Bowdoin men currently stand 24th in the nation.
