Women's Squash Rolls Wesleyan and Hamilton In Weekend Play

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's squash team posted a pair of impressive victories in a busy weekend of action in Connecticut.

The Polar Bears went perfect in action down at Wesleyan, defeating the Cardinals (6-3) and Hamilton (6-3) before returning home to lose to Brown 9-0. Bowdoin is ranked 17th nationally and stand at 7-6 overall this year.

Weekend Highlights

  • The Polar Bears opened with a 6-3 win over 23rd-ranked Wesleyan on Friday night
  • The middle of Bowdoin's lineup delivered against the Cardinals as the Polar Bears took wins at positions two through five. Torey Lee, Alexa Horwitz, Tully Ross and Chloe Polikoff all earned 3-0 wins while Zoe Wood (3-1) and Nicole Ampatey (3-1) closed out the match with wins at number eight and nine
  • The Polar Bears continued to roll against 19th-ranked Hamilton, winning at the top five positions to take the victory
  • Sarah Nelson, Lee, Horwitz and Polikoff earned wins as Bowdoin grabbed an early edge. Ross and Ampatey sealed the victory with lengthy wins for the Polar Bears at number four and nine, respectively
  • Bowdoin returned to Brunswick Sunday and fell to 12th-ranked Brown. Lee was able to win a game for the Polar Bears in the setback
