NEWPORT, R.I. - The Bowdoin College women's sailing team sits in seventh place in the Western Semifinal bracket after the first day of competition at the Sperry National Championship.

The top nine teams in each semifinal division will advance to the finals, which begin on Wednesday.

The co-ed team is scheduled to begin competition at the Gill National Championship on Monday, June 1. Before the Polar Bears left for Newport, senior Michael Croteau and junior Courtney Koos talked about the season thus far and looked ahead at nationals.
