Women's Sailing Team Qualifies For Nationals With Strong Finish at New England's

Coach Pizzo's Report - April 27

The Polar Bears competed in two events this past weekend including the Admirals Cup at Kings Point and the Jerry Reed Trophy hosted by Boston College.  Racing was limited down at King's Point because of light wind all weekend.  The Polar Bears made some big adjustments starting and sailing strong first beats.  Bowdoin finished 11th of 20 teams.  Jack McGuire and Charlotte Williamson finished 15th in A Division, Michael Croteau and Mimi Paz finished 9th in B division, and Matt Lyons finished 11th in C division.

The Polar Bears had a great weekend at the Jerry Reed Trophy hosted by Boston College.  This event serves a qualifier for the Women's National Championship.  Long races and steady breeze kept the racing close all weekend and the Polar Bears were able to put together strong races and finished 7th overall and qualified for Nationals May 25-28th hosted by Brown University and Salve Regina.  Erin Mullins, Dana Bloch, and Julia Rew finished 7th in A division and Courtney Koos and Sydney Jacques finished 9th in B division.  This result is a huge team effort!
