Women's Squash Knocks Off Bates For First Time Since 2009

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's squash team defeated Bates for the first time since 2009 in a 5-4 victory Friday evening at the Lubin Center.

The Polar Bears (2-2) are ranked 18th in the latest CSA National Poll while the Bobcats (1-3) are ranked 15th.

  • The middle of Bowdoin's lineup delivered four wins at positions three through six to spark the victory over the Bobcats
  • Alexa Horwitz (3-0) at number three, Diya Chopra (3-0) at number five and Chloe Polikoff (3-0) at number six each earned sweeps
  • Nicole Ampatey delivered the most impressive and crucial win of the evening for Bowdoin at number nine, claiming a 3-1 (11-5, 11-9, 5-11, 11-6) victory
  • Tully Ross clinched the match in Bowdoin's favor with another 3-0 sweep at number four
