Box Score SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Julie Dachille and Chelsea MacNeil each netted a pair of goals to wrap up the Bowdoin women's ice hockey team's Midwestern road trip with a 4-1 win over Hamline University on Saturday night.
Bowdoin collected its second consecutive win of 2015 after coming from behind to halt Hamline's two-game win streak. The Polar Bears improve to 6-1-2 while the Pipers drop to 2-7-1 on the season.
Despite being outshot through the opening period, the Pipers were first to find the back of the net as Chelsea Koehn opened the second period with a goal 1:35 into the frame. MacNeil countered with a game-tying goal with 4:06 remaining in the same period, to send the two teams to the locker room knotted at 1-1.
Dachille opened the final frame with the go-ahead goal 6:54 into play and continued adding to her point total with another about ten minutes later. Bowdoin was finally able to convert on the power play as MacNeil tallied her second of the evening off a feed from Marne Gallant with just over two minutes remaining. The Polar Bears were 1-5 on the power play against Hamline.
Bowdoin outshot the Pipers by a 28-18 margin and won 34 of 53 faceoffs. Lan Crofton made 17 saves for the Polar Bears with Jessica Cole making 24 stops for Hamline.
The Polar Bears return to Watson Arena for a 7:00 p.m. NESCAC matchup against Connecticut College next Friday night.
