BOSTON, Mass. - Bowdoin athlete Addison Carvajal set a new meet record Friday evening in winning the women's pentathlon at the 2014 ECAC Indoor Track and Field Championship.
Her total of 3,401 points broke the previous mark by 32 points. Among her performances in the five events, she took first in the 800 meter run and the long jump. She also placed second in the high jump, took third in the shot put and placed eighth in the 60 meter hurdles.
Other strong showings included Erin Silva's fourth place finish in the pole vault (3.53 meters), Katherine Harmon's fifth-place toss in the weight throw (16.54 meters) and Katharine Krupp's sixth-place showing in the triple jump (11.40 meters).
The NCAA will announce the field for the Division III Championship meet on Monday evening.
