Women's Squash Earns NESCAC First Round Win Over Tufts

CLINTON, N.Y. - The Bowdoin College women's squash team won its opening match over Tufts, 9-0, at the 2014 NESCAC Championship Friday evening at Hamilton College.

The Polar Bears (7-10) advance to Saturday's NESCAC Quarterfinals where they will face Bates at 1:30 p.m. The victory was the second of the season for Bowdoin over the Jumbos, duplicating a 9-0 win for the Polar Bears on November 23.

Bowdoin's Rachel Barnes captured a 3-2 win at the #1 position on Friday evening, but the rest of the ladder earned 3-0 sweeps as the Polar Bears cruised to victory. Sarah Nelson, Michaela Martin, Alden Drake, Chloe Polikoff, Sara Wlodarczyk, Christiana Whitcomb, Emily Simonton and Natalie LaPlant rounded out the victors for the team.

The Polar Bears will be looking to avenge a 7-2 loss to the Bobcats on December 6.
