Bowdoin Offense Rolls as Women's Lacrosse Eases to 11-Goal Win over Wesleyan

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College women's lacrosse team jumped out to a 9-1 lead and cruised to a 18-7 win over Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon at Ryan Field.

Elizabeth Clegg netted a game-high five goals for the Polar Bears (8-4, 5-3 NESCAC) and scooped a team-best three ground balls. Taylor Wilson had three goals while Katie Herter had two goals and two assists. Madeline Coulter and Kaylin Berger had two goals and an assist each for Wesleyan.

Tara Connolly made eight saves in the win for the Polar Bears. Maggie Drowica made 11 stops in net for the Cardinals.

Bowdoin wasted little time sprinting to a 3-0 lead in the first 4:27. After Coulter got Wesleyan on the scoreboard at 25:01, Bowdoin rolled off six-straight goals, including a pair from Clegg, to give the hosts a 9-1 lead late in the half.

Bowdoin pushed the lead into double digits midway through the second period and was in running time for the remainder of the contest.

The Polar Bears converted on 13 of 17 free-position opportunities to account for the majority of their scoring. Bowdoin won 17 of 26 draw controls and held a 32-17 edge in shots.
