NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - The Bowdoin College women's indoor track and field team posted its best finish at the New England Division III Championship in over a decade, earning a third-place finish at the meet hosted by Smith College.

The Polar Bears totaled 72 points, trailing just Williams (143) and MIT (142).

Elsa Millett continued her stellar campaign by taking first place in the 400 meter dash (57.02) and earning third in the 200 meter event (25.58).

Other top finishers on the track included Olivia MacKenzie's runner-up finish in the 5000 meters (17:36.02), Chantal Croteau's fourth-place finish in the 1000 meters (2:59.61) and Michele Kaufman's fifth-place finish in the 60 meter hurdles (9.13). In addition, Bowdoin's distance medley relay team of Caroline Tory, Emily Clark, Maggie Bryan and Madelena Rizzo took second place (12:30.66).

In the field events, Erin Silva placed third in the pole vault with a height of 3.5 meters. Hayleigh Kein placed fifth in the high jump (1.53 meters) while Laura Peterson took fifth in the long jump (5.22 meters). Annie Huyler carded 3,031 points to take seventh overall in the pentathlon.
