Women's Squash Opens Campaign With Two Matches at Darmouth

HANOVER, N.H. - The Bowdoin College women's squash team dropped a pair of matches in its season-opening weekend at Dartmouth.

The Polar Bears (0-2) are ranked 20th in the latest College Squash Association poll. They dropped a 9-0 decision to eighth-ranked Dartmouth and fell 6-3 to 15th-ranked Franklin & Marshall.

After being shut out by the Big Green, Bowdoin earned three wins against the Diplomats on Saturday afternoon. Torey Lee took a 3-0 (11-2, 11-6, 11-5) win at #1 singles for the Polar Bears. Monica Wlodarczyk took a hard-fought 3-2 (11-7,8-11,7-11,11-9,12-10) win at #4 and Michaela Martin claimed a 3-1 (7-11,11-9,11-9,13-11) comeback victory at #5.

Bowdoin will return to action on January 5-6 when they travel to Williamstown, Mass. to take on Middlebury and Williams.
