Women's Squash Places 21st at Team Nationals

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Bowdoin College women's squash team improved their national ranking by one spot, earning 21st in the nation at the College Squash Association National Tournament's Walker Cup "C" Division this weekend. The Polar Bears went 2-1 overall and finish their year with a record of 8-12.

Every Bowdoin player in the ladder collected at least one win in weekend play, as Bowdoin dropped 5-4 heartbreaker to Franklin & Marshall in their opening round before bouncing back to take a pair of convincing wins; 6-3 over Georgetown and 7-2 over William Smith.

Lauren Gesswein posted a perfect 3-0 mark at the number one position for the Polar Bears over the weekend, while Monica Wlodarczyk and Bonnie Cao also turned the trick with three wins at number four and five, respectively. Elizabeth Warner, Elizabeth Schetman and Alex Peacock-Villada earned two wins apiece for the squad.
