Andrews Scores Game-Winner as Polar Bears Beat Camels

BRUNSWICK, Maine - First-year Mallory Andrews scored the game-winning goal as the Bowdoin women's ice hockey team scored three power play goals in a 4-3 victory over Conn. College on Saturday afternoon. The victory snaps a brief two-game losing skid for the Polar Bears (4-2-0) while the Camels fall to 3-3-0 on the year.

Kayte Holtz and Kim Tess-Wanat were each credited with a goal and an assist for Bowdoin. Courtney Dumont had a goal and an assist for the Camels.

Bowdoin built a 3-1 lead in the second period on consecutive scores from Holtz, Tess-Wanat and Emily Tang before Ashleigh Kowtoniuk and Dumont scored a minute apart late in the frame to send the game tied into the final stanza. The Polar Bears earned a power play with just under eight minutes to play and Andrews cashed in on the game-winner off assists from Madeline Lane and Alexandra Fahey.

Amy Leichliter was credited with 23 saves for Connecticut College while Kayla Lessard made 19 saves in her season debut for the Polar Bears.
