MIDDLEBURY, Vt. — Simon Catanzaro reached the A singles semifinals and Cameron Zia upset the tournament's top seed to lead the Bowdoin men's tennis team at the ITA New England Regional Championships this weekend.

Bowdoin Highlights

• Seeded 9–16, Catanzaro won four matches to reach the semifinals. He defeated fellow seeded player Hunter Liao of MIT in the quarterfinals, 4–6, 6–4, 6–3, before falling to No. 2 seed Garv Bahl of Tufts, 7–5, 3–6, 6–2.
• Zia advanced to the A singles quarterfinals, highlighted by a 6–4, 6–2 win over top seed Andreas Sillaste of Amherst in the round of 16. His run ended against No. 8 seed Noah Lewis of Middlebury.
• Catanzaro and Zia also reached the doubles quarterfinals as the No. 8 seeds. They defeated a seeded Tufts pair, 8–5, in the round of 16 before falling to Amherst's top-seeded team.
• Christian Stubbeman reached the B singles round of 16, where he took seeded Huasen Dong of Brandeis to a match tiebreak in a 2–6, 6–3, 10–8 loss. Stubbeman and Jackson Codd also advanced to the doubles round of 16.
