BRUNSWICK, Maine – A pair of Bowdoin women's basketball players have been recognized in All-New England Small College Athletic Conference honors announced on Wednesday.
Junior
Abbie Quinn (Bangor, Maine) and sophomore
Grace Kinum (New Providence, N.J.) have both been named First Team All-Conference in awards handed out by the league.
Quinn, a Second Team selection last year, was the most dominant post in conference play, averaging a league-best 16.9 points per game on 52% shooting from the field and 78% from the free throw line against NESCAC opponents. Against the top half of the league Quinn was at her best, averaging 19.8 points and 5.0 boards against Bates, Amherst, and Trinity this year.
Kinum gathers her first All-NESCAC awards after a breakout sophomore campaign saw her average 13.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.0 steals per game. She was the only player in the conference to average more than 13.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals this season.
Bowdoin finished 10-0 in NESCAC play this season (24-2 overall) before falling in the NESCAC Championship game last Sunday. The Polar Bears will host an NCAA Regional in Morrell Gymnasium this weekend, opening against Emmanuel at 7:45 p.m. on Friday night.
