WATERVILLE, Maine – The Bowdoin women's ice hockey team extended its win streak over Colby to four with a 3-0 victory over the Mules on Friday night.
The Polar Bears remain perfect at 3-0-0 (3-0-0 NESCAC). The Mules lost their first game of the season.
Game Highlights
- Bowdoin scored early in the second period to go ahead 1-0. Luna Lu collected a loose puck off the left boards in front of the Colby bench and skated into the offensive zone. Lu beat a defender and deposited the puck low blocker side on Grace Caligiuri.
- The Polar Bears found the net again in the third at 4:38. Bella Mele stripped a defender at the top of the Colby zone and carried deep toward the red line. Mele made a low angle pass cross-ice to Bella Schifano for the open finish.
- Midway through the frame, Meghan Britt made it 3-0. Lu wrapped around behind the net and passed up to Britt for a one-timer.
By the Numbers
- Sarah Peterson continued her stellar numbers against the Mules with a 37 save shutout. Peterson is 4-0-0 against Colby with a total of 132 saves and just three goals allowed with a pair of shutouts.
- Bowdoin went 0-for-4 on the power play and Colby was 0-for-4.
- The Mules held a 35-20 edge in faceoff wins.
