Swimming & Diving Earns Split Results at Home Against Connecticut College

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin men's and women's swimming and diving teams hosted Connecticut College on Sunday and posted split results.
 
The women earned a 159-134 win over the visiting Camels. The men dropped a 199-81 result to Connecticut.
 
Women's Meet Highlights
  • Natalie Garre picked up where she left off at the end of 2024. Garre finished first in the 200 free with a time of 1:53.29, followed by Lizzie Walsh with a 1:56.13. Garre also won the 200 fly (2:06.87) with Katie Coulter (2:07.80) and Walsh (2:07.94) completing the podium sweep.
  • Garre picked up another top finish in the 200 backstroke (2:03.59) with Ava Wong snagging third with a 2:11.44.
  • Liv Smith and Wong finished two-three in the 100 backstroke with times of 59.75 and 1:01.16, respectively.Smith took the podium in the 100 free (54.49) as Ava Harrington snagged third (54.85).
  • Bowdoin's three divers, Sadie Smith, Ursula von Goeler, and Lilian Tetreault finished first-third in both the 1meter and 3 meter.
  • Coulter and Harrington finished one-two in the 500 free with a 5:14.29 and 5:17.09, respectively.
  • Sydney Lillis finished in the top spot in the 100 fly (58.41) and picked up third in the 400 IM (4:36.95). Walsh earned the win in the 400 IM, swimming a 4:30.43.
  • Mia Wonacott took silver in the 50 free (21.59) and Harper Stevenson did the same in the 200 breaststroke (2:30.24).
  • Smith, Stevenson, Garre, and Harrington finished second in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:38.15.
 
Men's Meet Highlights
  • The men opened the meet with a second place result in the 400 medley relay, put together by Jack Tran, Alex Grand'Pierre, Raphael Grand'Pierre, and Penn Lee for a time of 3:24.76.
  • Dylan Zhang finished third in both the 200 free (1:45.95) and the 100 free (48.30).
  • Liam Roehr was runner-up in the 100 and 200 backstroke with times of 52.74 and 1:58.63.
  • In the 100 breaststroke, Alex Grand'Pierre snagged second (58.80) and third in the 200 (2:13.22). Lee touched just before Grand'Pierre in the 200 with a 2:13.01.
  • Raphael Grand'Pierre posted second place finishes in the 50 free (21.59) and the 100 fly (51.70). Jaran Depew was third in the fly with a 51.74.
  • Depew edged Rhys Edwards for second in the 200 fly and the pair finished second and third 1:54.43 and 1:55.09.
  • Joram Kim finished the 400 IM with a time of 4:14.10 to earn second and Phillip Bianco was third in the 1000 with a 10:07.11.
  • The Polar Bears wrapped up the meet with a second place 400 free relay time of 3:09.61, put together by Raphael Grand'Pierre, Tran, Lee, and Edwards.
