WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – In an historic performance, Bowdoin's
Emily Renoff ran away from the field to take medalist honors with a school-record 68 (-3) on Sunday to claim the 2024 Williams Invitational at Taconic Golf Club.
Tournament Highlights
- Renoff, a first year, becomes the first Polar Bear to ever win the prestigious tournament, considered one of the top Division III tournaments in New England each fall.
- Her 68 (-3) on Sunday is a single-round school record and her 71-68-139 is a 36-hole school mark. She is the first Polar Bear to ever shoot lower than 140 in a two-day, 18-hole format.
- She had five birdies and two bogeys in her Sunday round, including a pair of 2's on par threes.
- Renoff wasn't the only Polar Bear to enjoy an excellent weekend as classmate Katie Ng took eighth place individually with an outstanding 75-74-149 (+7).
- Shivani Schmulen (81-79-160) was 43rd individually, followed by Emilia Rose (84th, 89-83-172), and Muzi Wen (87th, 88-85-173)
- Bowdoin improved 11 shots from day one to day two, vaulting up the leaderboard to finish in fifth place (619), seven shots ahead of Wesleyan (626), and ten strokes behind Amherst (609). Wellesley won the crown with a score of 592.
