AUBURN, Maine – The Bowdoin men's and women's cross country teams placed second at the Maine State Championship Saturday. Highlighting the day for Bowdoin was the first-place finish by Will Goddard, who claimed his second straight state championship men's title.
 
Men's Meet Highlights

• Bowdoin posted a 1-2-3 finish but Bates' depth edged out at the end, as the Bobcats totaled 37 points to Bowdoin's 43 in the ten-team field.
• Goddard claimed his second straight state crown, covering the 8k course in 25:45.0.
• He was followed closely by Seamus McDonough (25:55.5) and Matthew Servin (25:58.9) to round out the top three.
• Ashton Dunlap (27:03.1) and Ben Bockmann (27:05.1) ended in 21^st and 22^nd place, respectively, for Bowdoin.

Women's Meet Highlights

• Bowdoin took a runner-up finish in the eight-team women's field, posting 46 points to trail only Bates (18).
• Angelina Hickey was the leading Polar Bear, taking fourth in 23:27.7.
• The Polar Bears then placed five runners in spots 9-14, led by Tori Bacall (24:09.4), and Lauren Traum (24:09.6) who earned top-ten finishes.
• Lex Davis (11^th, 24:10.8), Cam Meyer (12^th, 24:11.9), and Kaylee Hale (24:17.1) rounded out the top Bowdoin runners.
