BOSTON, Mass. – The Bowdoin sailing team wrapped up the 2024 Women's Fleet Race Nationals with a 14
th place result in the finals.
The Polar Bears qualified for the two day finals after finishing in the top-nine on Monday and Tuesday. Bowdoin faced the top teams in the country on Wednesday and Thursday, with day one bringing steady winds out of the southwest. Day two brought challenging mixed conditions with shifting winds and passing thunderstorms. Stanford defended its title to win back-to-back championships.
Bowdoin struggled to begin racing on Wednesday but worked to overcome a slow start and sail more consistently as the competition progressed later in the day and into Thursday.
