MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Bowdoin women's swimming & diving team had strong individual results and relay finishes to earn seventh at the 2024 NESCAC Championship.
 
The Polar Bears sat comfortably in seventh place with a combined 767.5 points.
 
Meet Highlights

• Bowdoin opened the meet with a seventh place finish in the 800 free relay. Elizabeth Walsh, Liv Smith, Harper Stevenson, and Carolyn Casey got the Polar Bears started with a 7:42.19.
• Ella Martin, Tatum Zupnik, Shannon McCall, and Ella Riccio combined for fourth in the 200 free relay with a B Cut time of 1:35.29.
• Martin, Walsh, Stevenson, and Zupnik teamed up for a B Cut in the 400 medley at 3:49.98 and fifth.
• In the 200 medley, Martin, Stevenson, Zupnik, and Riccio were sixth with a 1:45.45.
• Individually, Bowdoin had several swimmers and divers make the finals in multiple events.
• Zupnik tied for second in the 50 fly at 25.00 and came in fourth for the 50 free (23.48) with a B Cut.
• Martin continued her dominance in the 50 backstroke with a championship race in the finals (25.60). Martin set a pool record during the prelims (25.35) and owns the conference record, set last year. Martin was second in the 100 backstroke (55.73) with a B Cut time.
• Walsh was third in the 400 IM (4:25.69) and fourth in the 200 IM (2:05.85). The 400 IM time was good for an NCAA B Cut.
• Sadie Smith qualified for the finals in both the 1 and 3 meter diving events. Smith earned fourth in both with 409.95 in the 1 meter and 401.85 in the 3 meter.
• Sydney Lillis and Stevenson finished three-four in the 200 fly. Lillis was also eighth in the 400 IM (4:32.55) and Stevenson was sixth in the 200 free (1:54.16).
