Women's Basketball Hosts Tufts in NESCAC Quarterfinals Saturday

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's basketball team will host Tufts in a NESCAC Quarterfinal game on Saturday, February 17 at 3:00 p.m. in Morrell Gymnasium.

No tickets are required for Saturday's contest, and the game will be carried live on the Northeast Sports Network. NESCAC Quarterfinal games will be played on February 17 at the higher seed while the semifinals and final will be held at the highest remaining seed on February 24 and 25.

The top-seeded Polar Bears (22-2) earned the No. 1 seed in the NESCAC Championship for the eighth time in program history with a 9-1 record in conference play this winter. The Polar Bears are the only team to have qualified for every NESCAC Championship since the tournament's inception in 2000-01. Bowdoin will host No. 8 Tufts in a rematch of the 2023 quarterfinal, but with roles reversed, last season the top-seeded Jumbos defeated No. 8 Bowdoin, 75-61. In the 2023-24 regular season matchup, the Polar Bears handed Tufts a 77-63 loss on February 3. Bowdoin's last semifinal appearance came in 2020, the same year the team won its ninth conference title, the most of any NESCAC school.

Tufts (11-12) enters the game as defending NESCAC Champions, after they won their fourth conference crown last season. They are the No. 8 seed for the first time in program history, are making their 21st consecutive appearance in the NESCAC Championship, and have made nine straight trips to the semifinals.
