LAST WEEK
Both teams enter today's game with a 1-0 mark, as the Polar Bears jumped to an early lead and cruised to a 26-12 win over Hamilton last Saturday while Williams spotted Colby an early 14-0 lead before rallying in a 25-22 victory.

HOME OPENER
Bowdoin returns home for the 1,001st game in program history, looking for a win in its season opener for the second straight year. The Polar Bears beat Hamilton in their Whittier Field opener last fall, and will be looking to win consecutive home openers for the first time since 1991-92 when they beat Middlebury and Amherst in back-to-back years.

POLAR BEAR LEADERS
Several of Bowdoin's familiar faces helped propel the Polar Bears to a week one win, along with a few newcomers who entered the mix. Quarterback Andrew Boel continued to climb the Bowdoin record books with a 347-yard, three-touchdown effort. Boel now ranks fourth in Bowdoin history with 3,430 yards passing and fifth with 19 career touchdowns. Tailback Andre Eden rushed for 66 yards and is three yards shy of moving into ninth place on the career rushing list (1,653). Colton Fahey caught five passes for 94 yards, rising to ninth in Bowdoin's all-time catches list (78) and fifth in career yards (1,313). Meanwhile, first-year Luke Watson's first career touch was a 68-yard touchdown reception in the win against the Continentals.

Defensively, All-NESCAC linebacker Koy Price led Bowdoin with nine tackles, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a pass breakup. Bowdoin's defense allowed its fewest points since 2010, and ranks fifth in the league (296 yards) while the offense stands second in the conference (454 yards).

SCOUTING THE EPHS
First-year quarterback Owen McHugh sparked the Ephs in their comeback win over Colby, going 12-16 for 138 yards and two scores while running back Mario Fischetti led all NESCAC players in rushing in week one, going for 119 yards on the ground with a TD. Williams ranks fifth in total offense (362 yards) and fourth in defense (269 yards) after the opening week.

LAST MEETING
Last September in Williamstown, Williams grabbed an early 14-0 lead and held off a second half rally by Bowdoin in a 24-14 win. Williams outgained Bowdoin 269-255 and the teams combined for 19 punts in an evenly-matched game.

BOWDOIN vs. WILLIAMS – ALL-TIME
The Ephs are riding a nine-game winning streak in the series, with four of those victories coming at Whittier Field. Bowdoin's last victory in the series was 2007 in a 28-14 win in Brunswick. Williams owns a 57-15-6 edge all-time with the first meeting coming in 1890.
