SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Bowdoin College women's rugby team got its spring season underway at a Sevens Tournament hosted by American International College last weekend. The Polar Bears went 2-2, defeating Colby-Sawyer and Northeastern-B while losing to AIC and Northeastern-A.
 
Match Highlights

• Game 1: Bowdoin 48, Colby-Sawyer 0.  Maggie Norton and Katie Stomma scored two tries each, Nisi Tuitupou, Justine Endo-Ferguson, Cassie Allgeier, and Sophie Gold scored one apiece. Lulu Linkas notched four conversion kicks and Ella Slaby added one.
• Game 2: A.I.C. 27, Bowdoin 12 . Len Dodge and Rebecca Vakarau each scored a try with Slaby adding one conversion.
• Game 3: Bowdoin 45, Northeastern-B 0.  Rebecca Vakarau had three tries, Katie Stomma scored one and Ella Slaby scored two tries and made three conversions.
• Knockout Round: Northeastern 19, Bowdoin 12. Rebecca Vakarau scored both tries while Ella Slaby had one conversion.

Up Next

• Bowdoin will play an exhibition match against Bishop's College at UNE on Friday, April 7, at 7:00 p.m. before returning to Sevens play at the UNE Sevens Tournament on Saturday, April 15.
