BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College track & field teams open their 2023-24 campaign with the U Bears Alumni Invitational on Saturday at Farley Field House. The meet was a non-scoring invitational that included athletes from Maine-Farmington and Husson and numerous Bowdoin alumni who returned to campus.
 
Meet Highlights

• Max Russo led the way for Bowdoin with a school record and New England D3-qualifying time of 1:20.92 in the men's 600 meters.
• Kianne Benjamin posted a pair of excellent season-opening results, recording the nation's best time in the 200m so far (25.09) and the second-best time in D3 in the 60m (7.63). Both were New England D3 qualifying marks.
• Other athletes reaching New England D3 qualifying standards for the women were Kennedy Kirkland (26.38 in 200m and 5.26m in the long jump), Jenna Albanese (5.46 in long jump), Mardy Novak in the shot put (11.41m), and Corinne Ahern in the weight throw (13.45m).
• For the men Kane Demers (8.59 in 60m) joined Russo by hitting the New England D3 standard as well.
