Box Score WATERVILLE, Maine – The Bowdoin women's ice hockey team surrendered four goals in the first period to suffer a 4-0 setback at Colby on Friday evening.
The Polar Bears are 2-3-0 (1-2-0 NESCAC). The Mules collected their first conference win to sit at 3-0-0 (1-0-0 NESCAC).
Game Highlights
- The Polar Bears surrendered four first period goals to put themselves into a deep hole early. Colby scored just 12 seconds into the game. Courtney Schumacher sent a centering pass to Meg Rittenhouse from behind the net to the front edge of the crease. Rittenhouse put the puck away.
- The Mules scored again in the ninth minute as Megan Martodam one-timed a pass to the back left post from Rittenhouse.
- Colby made it 3-0 three minutes later as Maria Pierce buried a rebound off the pads.
- With 29 seconds remaining in the period, Breanna Studley followed her own shot and poked in a puck that Sally Solotaroff-Webber could not fully cover.
- Bowdoin kept Colby off the board for the final 40 minutes of action, but could not put the puck in to spoil a shutout.
