LAST WEEK
The Polar Bears improved to 3-2 with a convincing 35-20 win over Bates at Whittier Field. The Cardinals play at home for the first time in October and are raiding a two-game losing skid that included a blowout loss at Tufts last weekend.

POLAR BEAR LEADERS
Bowdoin's balance has been its strength as we pass the midpoint of the 2023 campaign. The Polar Bears rank third in both scoring offense (23.6 points/game) and defense (18.0 points/game) this season. Andrew Boel, last week's NESCAC Offensive Player of the Week, leads the conference in passing this year with 1,358 yards and 10 touchdowns. Colton Fahey tied his own school record with three touchdown receptions last week against Bates and stands fourth in the league with 24 catches for 471 yards. The Polar Bears are second only to Trinity in time of possession this year, averaging over 33 minutes of possession per game. Max Jacobs (9.5 TFL) and Koy Price (9.0 TFL) lead Bowdoin on defense, ranking third and fourth, respectively, in tackles for loss, with each also claiming 4.5 sacks on the year.

SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
Wesleyan stands fourth in the league in scoring (22.8 points/game) while ranking seventh in defense (24.2 points/game). Nico Candido is fourth in the league in passing, completing 55.6% of his throws for 1,260 yards and 12 touchdowns. Receivers Thomas Elkhoury (31 receptions, 2 touchdowns) and Chase Wilson (28 receptions, 7 touchdowns) both rank among the league leaders and account for 59 of Candido's 94 completions this year. Defensively, Wesley Abraham leads the NESCAC in both interceptions (3) and passes defended (9) this fall.

LAST MEETING
Last year in Brunswick, Bowdoin stopped a potential game-tying two-point conversion with 1:34 to play, securing a 28-26 win over Wesleyan. Andrew Boel went 22-31 passing for 207 yards while Andre Eden rushed 24 times for 59 yards for Bowdoin. Defensively, Aise Pream led Bowdoin with ten tackles and two pass break-ups while Max Jacobs had seven tackles, two pass breakups and an interception returned for a TD.

BOWDOIN vs. WESLEYAN – ALL-TIME
Last year's Bowdoin win snapped a nine-game winning streak by the Cardinals in the series. The last Polar Bear win in Middletown came in 2008. Wesleyan leads the all-time series 62-30-2.
