Women's Cross Country Sprints to Second-Place Finish at Bowdoin Invite 1

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College men's and women's cross country teams took second-place finishes in their home debut on Saturday at the Bowdoin Invitational #1. The Polar Bears finished only behind nationally-ranked Tufts in both races.
 
Women's Meet Highlights
  • The 14th-ranked Jumbos claimed the women's meet with six of the top eight finishers and a team score of 22 as Bowdoin took second with 59 points in an 11-team field.
  • Leila Trummel ran an outstanding 6K race for the Polar Bears, taking second individually in a time of 23:01.9, just a second off the winning pace set by Carly Rinko of Tufts (23:00.3).
  • Stephanie Chun also earned a top-ten finish, taking ninth in 23:28.8.
  • Bowdoin had a number of personal bests on the afternoon including Abby Mueller (16th, 24:07.6), Lex Davis (17th, 24:14.3), Lauren Traum (21st, 24:32.5) and Claire Wyman (22nd, 24:34.8).

  • Bowdoin will return to action next Saturday at the Maine State Meet hosted at Saxl Park by Husson.
