Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 HARTFORD, Conn. – The Bowdoin baseball team suffered a Saturday sweep at the hands of Trinity.
 
The Polar Bears (8-12, 1-2 NESCAC) fell 8-6 in game one and 7-0 in game two. Trinity improves to 10-8 (4-2 NESCAC).
 
Game One Highlights

• Trinity plated five runs in the second inning and two in the third to jump out to a 7-0 lead. The Bantams held the Polar Bears scoreless until the fifth when CJ Brito-Trinidad singled to left and Ben McKenzie scored on an error by the left fielder.
• Trinity added an answering run in the bottom half of the inning to push the lead back to seven.
• Bowdoin found its offensive footing in the fifth with a five run rally. Kevin Murray got the scoring started with an RBI single to center. Nick Merrill followed up with an RBI single to the pitcher.
• Stephen Simoes knocked a double down the right field line that plated Murray and Bobby Pearl tagged a two run single to left.
• Bowdoin could not complete the comeback in the seventh.
• Simoes went 4-for-4 at the plate with a double and stolen base. Jason Bogdanos suffered the loss, allowing seven runs. Aidan Schraeder pitched the final 3.1 innings and allowed just two hits and one run while fanning three batters.

 
Game Two Highlights

• The Bantams scored in the bottom of the second and third innings, plating one run each time.
• A sacrifice fly in the second and an RBI single in the third was all the offense Trinity needed to best the Polar Bears.
• The Bantams tacked on five additional runs in the bottom of the eighth to put the game out of reach.
• Gavin Cann and Luke Chessie were Bowdoin's only batters with multiple hits. Cann went 2-for-4 and Chessie was 2-for-3.
• Andrew Cohen started for the Polar Bears and pitched six innings with seven hits and earned runs. Chessie pitched the remainder of the game.
