The Polar Bears (15-20) will have to sweep a doubleheader tomorrow against Middlebury (20-12) to keep their season alive. The Panthers need just one win to advance to next week's championship weekend.

- Middlebury's offense awoke in the bottom of the fifth, however, as two three-run homers contributed to an eight-run frame that trimmed the lead to 11-9.
- A single run in the seventh cut the lead to 11-10 and Middlebury scored to tie it in the ninth on a double. A few batters later a long fly ball down the left field line was ruled a three-run, game-winning homer for the hosts, capping the dramatic comeback.
