WATERVILLE, Maine – The Bowdoin women's swimming and diving team earned a fifth place finish at the NESCAC Championships.
 
The Tufts Jumbos won the title with 1809 points. Bowdoin earned 877.5 points to edge sixth place Middlebury (811). Bates finished fourth and broke the thousand point threshold (1020).
 
 
Saturday Meet Highlights

• Ella Martin, Emilie Grand'Pierre, Tatum Zupnik, and Ella Riccio combined to shatter the school record in the 200 medley relay (1:41.96) and finish second. Martin's backstroke split broke her own program record (25.28).
• Martin broke the 100 backstroke school record twice on Saturday, including her third place finish in the evening (55.23).
• Anna Roberts and Grand'Pierre finished fourth and fifth respectively in the 100 breaststroke.
• Bowdoin concluded Saturday with 649.5 points and fifth place overall.

 
Sunday Meet Highlights

• Roberts finished fourth in the 200 breaststroke (2:19.16).
• Sadie Smith came away from her first conference meet as the NESCAC Champion in the 3 meter diving event with a final score of 466.15. Smith's point total set a new school record.
• Bowdoin concluded the meet with a fourth place finish in the 400 free relay. Cassie Maroney, Martin, Zupnik, and Riccio

• The NCAA Championship is March 16-19 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Bowdoin swimmers will wait for official qualifiers to be announced at a later date.
