NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Bowdoin College women's rugby team remained unbeaten with a sweep of matches on Sunday in Connecticut, defeating the University of New Haven 21-10 and the University of Connecticut, 35-10. The Polar Bears improved to 6-0 on the season with the wins.
 
New Haven Match Highlights

• Bowdoin had the margin in possession during the first half and took advantage to build a 15-5 lead. Leading tacklers Nisi Tuitupou and Kyra Bishop with 6 apiece.
• Ten minutes in, Rebecca Vakarau opened the scoring, Lauryn Eisenhart converted for a 7-0 lead.
• At 19 minutes, with a Bowdoin scrum at midfield, Bowdoin ran a play with fullback Eisenhart scoring from deep, and made her own conversion, 14-0.
• After a New Haven try, Len Dodge scored in the second half with Chloë Sheahan converting. New Haven added a late scored at the end for a 21-10 final.

UConn Match Highlights

• Bowdoin closed out their day with a 35-10 win over the University of Connecticut. 
• Leading a strong defensive effort were #7 Kyra Bishop with 12 tackles, and Jorja Markella and Keyna Mecias Quinonez with 7 apiece. In the backline, Ella Garnett and Saniya Ridley took down 5 each.
• Kyra Bishop scored two tries in the match, one to open each half and both converted (Eisenhart and Sheahan).
• Vakarau, Dodge and Mecias Quinonez added hard earned scores of their own with Eisenhart converting all three.
