Women's Squash Knocks Off Middlebury For First Time Since 2009

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Bowdoin College women's squash team defeated Middlebury for the first time since 2009 in a dramatic 5-4 triumph on Friday afternoon in Vermont. The 20th-ranked Polar Bears improve to 1-3 this season with their win over the 14th-ranked Panthers.
 
Match Highlights
  • Amanda Cowhey (3-0) and Skyler Spaulding (3-2) started the Polar Bears off strong with two strong wins at the number one and number four positions, respectively, with Spaulding pulling out a 10-12, 11-5, 11-8, 8-11, 11-8 triumph.
  • Caroline Glaser followed up Spaulding's five-game win with a tight victory of her own, claiming an 11-7, 11-9, 10-12, 9-11, 11-9 win for Bowdoin's third team point of the afternoon.
  • Down 4-3 overall, Emma Watts-Roy carded a dominant 3-0 shutout at the number two position to draw the match even.
  • From there, Cabell Crowder carried Bowdoin across the finish line with an impressive 3-0 win at number six, 13-11, 12-10, 11-9, to clinch the victory.
