Women's Golf Takes First Place Finish at Maine Invitational

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's golf team completed its opening weekend of play in style, winning the Maine Invitational on Sunday at Brunswick Golf Club. The Polar Bears took the crown by eight strokes (332) over Bates (340), followed by Trinity (363) and Husson (395).
 
Tournament Highlights
  • Abbie Kaestle came away with medalist honors, carding an impressive 2-over 75 to defeat Bates' Madeline Kwei by one stroke.
  • Crystal Chong shot an 81 to take third with Olivia Wirsching finishing in a tie for sixth with an 84.
  • Abby Flanagan also posted a top-ten finish for the Polar Bears, shooting an 85 to finish in eighth spot.

  • The tournament was the final home appearance for the Polar Bears this fall, as they will be on the road for the remainder of the fall. Bowdoin will head to play at the George Phinney Classic at Middlebury College next Saturday and Sunday.
