Box Score MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Bowdoin women's ice hockey team opened the season with a 4-3 overtime loss at Wesleyan on Friday evening.
The Polar Bears are 0-1-0 (0-1-0 NESCAC), while the Cardinals open 1-0-0 (1-0-0 NESCAC).
Game Highlights
- Wesleyan went up 2-0 with a pair of goals in the ninth minute. Caroline Mezias had the team's first goal at 8:29 and Caroline Jenkins doubled the lead 25 seconds later.
- Ali Dougal put Bowdoin on the board two minutes later, sending the teams into the first intermission at 2-1.
- After a scoreless second period, Bowdoin went ahead with two goals in the first three minutes of the final frame. Izzi Stoddard tied the game with a goal at 3:27 and Peyton Mulhern gave the Polar Bears their first lead of the game 20 seconds later.
