Bowdoin College statement on the firing of Jared Porter '03 as the general manager of The New York Mets baseball team.
 
It was reported this morning that Jared Porter '03 was fired as general manager of The New York Mets for his acknowledged repeated sexual harassment of a female reporter, including texting explicit photos to her. We celebrated Mr. Porter when he assumed the GM position last month, but after what was learned this morning, we are compelled to express our outrage at his inexcusable behavior. Bowdoin College has long had a zero-tolerance policy for sexual assault and harassment, and our thoughts are with the reporter he harassed and with all other victims of sexual violence.
