Swimming and Diving Heads Into Final Day of NESCAC Championship Sitting in Fifth

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Bowdoin women's swimming and diving team remains locked in fifth place with one day remaining in the NESCAC Championship.

The Polar Bears have 644 points overall. Bates is in fourth with 887 and Connecticut College has 506 in sixth.

Meet Highlights

  • Bowdoin's relays continued to shine on Saturday. The 200 medley relay team of Marshall Lowery, Anna Roberts, Mary Laurita, and Amanda Banasiak set a new school and earned an NCAA B cut time (1:44.25).
  • Laurita broke her own school record in the 100 fly prelim (54.62), and took second in the evening's finals (55.03). Cassandra Maroney finished 20th to earn points for the team.
  • Roberts continued her strong debut with her second top-3 individual finish of the meet, finishing third in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.21) and earning a B cut time. Emilie Grand'Pierre placed 23rd overall in the event.
  • Lowery closed out the night with a fourth place finish in the 100 backstroke (56.6, NCAA B cut), while Francesca Garces was 14th overall after qualifying for the consolation final.
  • Kate Moynihan competed in the grueling 1000 free and placed 12th overall. Kate Fosburgh had a similar result in the 200 free.
  • Nadia Eguchi earned points in the 400 IM, finishing 11th.

  • The teams return to the pool at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow morning for the final day of competition.
