Men's Tennis Rallies To Best Brandeis in Top-Ten Clash

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College men's tennis team rallied from a deficit in doubles play to defeat Brandeis 6-3 on Saturday afternoon.

The fifth-ranked Polar Bears opened their outdoor season at Pickard Courts with a win, improving to 10-1 with the victory over the 10th-ranked Judges.

Match Highlights

  • Brandeis took a 2-1 lead in doubles play, but Bowdoin stayed within striking distance thanks to an 8-2 win from Justin Patel/Oscar Yang at #3.
  • Bowdoin got right back into the match with straight-set wins from Grant Urken (6-2, 6-2) and Jerry Jiang (6-1, 6-4).
  • The Polar Bears sealed the victory with a trio of key three-set wins, courtesy of Oscar Yang (5-7, 6-2, 7-5), Justin Patel (6-2, 3-6, 6-2) and Evan Fortier (6-3, 4-6, 6-2).
