MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Bowdoin women's swimming and diving team earned a seventh place finish at the 2019 NESCAC Championships.

Two more school records fell on the final night of the 2019 NESCAC Championships as the Polar Bears finished in 7th place with 836 points. 

Meet Highlights

• Before the final session began the team of ​Mary Laurita, Marshall Lowery, Sterling Dixon, and Amanda Banasiak swam a school record time of 1:34.99 in a time trial of the 200 freestyle relay. 
• First-year Kathleen Kemp finished fifth place in the mile, touching in an NCAA B cut time of 17:22.28. Sophomore Nadia Eguchi placed 14th in 17:48.41. First-year Kate Moynihan added 19th place points with an 18:05.47.
• Dixon raced to a 2:02.07 in the 200 butterfly, good for second overall, an NCAA B cut, and a school record. Ally Fromson-Ho finished 13th with a time of 2:09.14.
• On the three meter board senior Rebecca Stern scored 405.40 points to finish in fourth place and secure the Senior High Point Diver award. Junior Thea Kelsey finished fifth with a score of 398.55.
• After touching in an NCAA B cut time of 2:02.07 in the 200 backstroke in prelims Lowery finished fifth in finals with a 2:03.35. Cecilia Dehavenon (2:08.18) and Jess Gearan (2:08.96) were 22nd and 23rd. 
• In the 100 freestyle Laurita (52.82) and Banasiak (53.08) placed 14th and 16th. 
• Claire Wolff and Audrey Aitelli were 22nd and 23rd in the 200 breaststroke in times of 2:30.35 and 2:31.20.
• The 400 freestyle relay A team of Laurita, Lowery, Dixon, and Banasiak touched sixth in 3:28.45. The B team of Kate Fosburgh, Erin Moody, Ellie Wargo, and Jess Gearan were 18th in 3:36.10.

• The women are off next week while the men take to the pool of the NESCAC Championship. Stern will compete at diving regionals on March 1 and several swimmers head to the NCAA Championships on March 20.
