BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's swimming & diving team will compete at the New England Small College Athletic Conference Championship this weekend at Wesleyan University.
The Polar Bears, who finished fifth with a program-record 998.5 points, enter this year's conference meet with a 5-1 record in dual meets and no. 18 ranking in the latest CSCAA Division III poll.
Looking ahead at the championship, Marshall Lowery owns the best time among conference competitors in the 100-yard backstroke (58.21) so far this season. Sterling Dixon has posted the best time in the NESCAC in the 200-yard IM (2:06.15) while Mary Laurita carded the second-best time in the 100-yard butterfly (57.10) this winter.
The championship begins on Thursday evening with the 800 freestyle relay at 7:00 p.m. Competition on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday begins with preliminary heats at 10 a.m. Finals are scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday, 5:50 p.m. on Saturday, and 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. All tickets will be sold at the door and are $8 per session for adults and $3 per session for children and students. Doors will open 60 minutes prior to the preliminaries and finals.
