HARTFORD, Conn. – The Bowdoin baseball team suffered a Saturday sweep at Trinity, falling 7-2 in game one and 6-3 in game two.

The Polar Bears sit at 9-9 and 3-3 in NESCAC East action. Trinity climbs to 9-9 and 4-2 in conference play.

Game One Highlights

• The Polar Bears fell behind 2-0 in the bottom of the first. Cooper Moody tallied an RBI single and Matt Koperniak stole home for the early lead.
• Bowdoin chipped away at the Bantams lead, with Connor Lee driving in Austin Zakow in the second.
• James McCarthy tallied an RBI single in the fifth to even the game.
• Trinity put up five runs in the sixth to put the game away, with every run going down as unearned.
• Max Vogel-Freedman suffered the loss, allowing seven hits and six runs, none earned. Vogel-Freedman recorded four K's and a walk.
• Alex Shafer went the distance for Trinity with four hits allowed and six strikeouts.

Game Two Highlights

• Bowdoin took its first lead of the day in the top of the third. Joe Gentile drove in Jack Wilhoite for an RBI single.
• Mooney responded in the bottom half of the inning for Trinity, matching Gentile with an RBI single.
• The Polar Bears regained the lead in the fourth as Colby Joncas singled and drove in Lee.
• Again, Trinity responded with a matching RBI single in the bottom half.
• The Bantams took their first lead with a two-run single from Carter Snyder.
• Bowdoin cut the deficit to one run as Wilhoite doubled in the sixth.
• Trinity plated one run in both the sixth and eighth innings.
• Colby Lewis started for Bowdoin and pitched 4.2 innings with five strikeouts.
• Lee was the only other Polar Bear with multiple hits.
