Men's Tennis Stays Hot In Sunday Shutout Of Conn. College

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's tennis team dispatched Conn. College on Sunday afternoon, 9-0, in the Polar Bears' first outdoor home match of the spring campaign.

The third-ranked Polar Bears extend their winning streak to seven matches and stand at 11-1 this spring.

Match Highlights

  • Bowdoin comfortably built a 3-0 lead in doubles play as Luke Tercek/Grant Urken (8-3), Kyle Wolfe/Jerry Jiang (8-4) and Justin Patel/Gil Roddy (8-4) quickly gave the hosts a commanding advantage.
  • The Polar Bears did not lose a set in singles action across six matches, getting sweeps at every position.
  • The most impressive wins came courtesy of Urken at #2 (6-1, 6-0), Roddy at #5 (6-1, 6-0) and Luke Carstens at #6 (6-2, 6-0).

  • The Polar Bears will return to action next Saturday with a clash against fourth-ranked Middlebury at home beginning at 10:00 a.m.
